I'm not a saw person, but I've not seen much bad publicity about the Taurus II. If blades are breaking a lot, it may have more to do with how you are using the saw than a fault within the saw.

Saws are expensive, as are blades. You can save yourself some money by looking into the problem. Phone the manufacturer and discuss your problem.
I'm told that they are very good witrh help-calls. You may have no need whatsoever to lay out the bread for a new saw.
